Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
University work as well as several work projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
High stress. Not enough help or time to complete the apprenticeship comfortably or with a good grade. Apprenticeship structure is poorly developed leaving periods with nothing to do and periods with too much to do.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Electrical engineering knowledge and semi-competent/beginner level skill with Digsilent power factory.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Extremely poor. The apprenticeship team who set project timelines seem to have no consideration of the university work we have to complete in parallel. They also disregard feedback from apprentices with thoughts on how the timetable has been laid out. This results in long periods (especially in the first year) with no work, experience or training and being overworked/overstressed in the second year with no meaningful support or recognition abut this from the apprenticeship team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Support from engineering technical staff is very good. Apprenticeship team staff do not offer support, they seem to not understand the learning/university side of the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
the apprenticeship programme was designed to prepare you for he role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Not really other than Christmas parties.
