Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As I am new to this role, on a day-to-day basis I am doing lots of learning about the construction industry and my role as a cost consultant. I support and assist more senior colleagues with tasks and have even taken responsibility over certain duties within my allocated projects such as valuations and expense assessments
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying my programme so far, everyone is super supportive and wants to help me progress in my role. Mace Consult provides me with lots of opportunities to develop in my career.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I was a blank slate coming into this job with no prior knowledge of the construction industry or cost consultancy. I have had plenty of opportunities and experiences to learn and expand my knowledge
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say it's very well-organised with monthly apprenticeship development sessions to develop my key skills along with plenty of other workshops and sessions between that are offered by various different people within Mace Consult
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is loads of support offered from the Emerging Talent team, my line manager, my allocated 'buddy' and everyone else I work with or around are always there to help me if needed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

It's online so there's only so much support they can give but they try their best and encourage communication
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have only completed 2 modules so far which gave me a little bit of insight along with the tasks I was completing in my role but this will improve as I move into the next modules which become more technical
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am apart of the social committee for the Manchester and also Leeds office where we organise the social events for the year. I am also apart of the Women at Mace network.

Ask any silly questions to anyone as they're more than happy to help. Also try and get into the office as much as you can to meet new people and build that rapport
