Application engineering.
Providing technical specification and quotations for sealing solutions globally
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Very much so. The Degree level learning mixed in with the real life engineering work provided strong foundations for my future.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Certainly. The course started with a 6 month training block which provide foundational knowledge in a wide variety of subject areas including, robotics, CAD, CAM, Software packages and project management. I have also learnt many transferable skills such as comunication and presentation skills to apply in my studies and at work

Very well. I have always been clear on what is required to get the most out the experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

AESSEAL has employed many apprentices before and after me. There is always the support available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

To a high degree. All apprenticeship workplace coaches, and degree teachers alongside staff working throughout the AMRC were always willing to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the course is very well catered to provide guidance into the real world environment. We learnt a wide range of topics which can help you as a young engineer to find your area of expertise.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes. i have had many opportunities to do so. AESSEAL provides an environment that is supportive and so social events are always to look forward to.

Why?
A lot of opportunity for personal growth. A very supportive environment that has been involved with apprenticeships for a long time so can help to a high degree.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AESSEAL plc?
Go in with a positive attitude. Learning is part and parcel of the course, don't be afraid to ask questions.
