My day as a trainee Quantity Surveyor usually involves measuring works from drawings, updating cost plans, and gathering quotes from subcontractors. I spend a good chunk of time keeping trackers and spreadsheets accurate, helping with monthly valuations, and logging any variations that come up. Some days I’m out on site checking progress and making sure what’s been built matches the drawings. It’s a steady mix of learning, numbers, and supporting the commercial team while I build up my experience.
