Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is entirely based around faults on the transmission system and providing site teams around the country with technical support. I get involved in fault prevention, mitigation and investigations. The work I get involved in is very mixed in terms of some admin work and report writing being completed from home. Other work involves being hands on and working on physical assets. My team also aids in refurbishment programs for assets with the aim of our work being to keep assets going on the aging network and save money by not just replacing assets and completing in house refurbishments.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am towards the end of my apprenticeship programme and I have completed all of my EPA (awaiting results). I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and cant wait to move on to my role full time.

Yes
Why?
I know a lot of people in apprenticeships across all sorts of different industries. I haven't heard of another company that treats their employee better in terms of work life balance, pay and benefits.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to National Grid?
Whilst the scheme is one of the best I have personally come across I would only recommend applying if you have a genuine interest in the industry.
