Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to ensure that our buildings remain safe and in a healthy condition, allowing our customers to carry out their work without concerns about maintenance issues. On a day‑to‑day basis, I collaborate and communicate with various teams across the organisation so that, together, we can respond quickly, work proactively, and maintain a productive and efficient service.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme was highly relevant and practical for my role, as it taught me effective ways to communicate proactively with both colleagues and customers.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learnt new skills and also developed several existing ones through the Women in Leadership apprenticeship. The programme helped me strengthen my communication skills, especially in being more proactive and clear when working with colleagues and customers. I also developed my confidence in decision‑making, problem‑solving and managing challenging situations. In addition, I gained new leadership tools that support me in organising my workload, working collaboratively across teams, and approaching conversations with a more solution‑focused mindset.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme was very well organised and clearly structured. Each module followed a logical sequence, which made it easy to understand how the different topics connected to one another. The sessions were planned in advance, the learning materials were accessible, and the expectations were always clear. I also found the mix of workshops, assignments, and practical activities really helpful, as it allowed me to apply what I was learning straight away in my day‑to‑day role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a great level of support from my employer throughout the programme. My manager was understanding and allowed me the time I needed to complete my apprenticeship tasks; he attended workshops and stayed on track with my learning. I also felt comfortable reaching out when I needed guidance, and I was encouraged to apply the skills from the programme in my day‑to‑day role. My tutors and the Learning and Development team have helped me stay motivated and confident throughout my apprenticeship. Their support made a significant difference to my progress, especially when balancing my studies with my day‑to‑day responsibilities.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a strong level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. The tutors are always approachable, responsive, and willing to explain anything I am unsure about. They check in regularly to make sure I am progressing well and provide helpful guidance, feedback, and resources when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has helped me perform better in my role in several meaningful ways. The programme has strengthened my confidence, improved my communication skills, and helped me approach situations more proactively. I now feel better equipped to manage challenges, work collaboratively with different teams, and support customers more effectively.
The tools and techniques I learned through my training provider have also helped me stay organised, think more strategically, and handle conversations with greater clarity and professionalism.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are several opportunities to get involved in extra‑curricular activities at work. We often have social events, wellbeing initiatives, and team‑building activities that help us connect with colleagues from different departments. There are also professional networking events and development sessions that support learning and collaboration across the organisation. These activities create a positive work environment and give staff the chance to build relationships outside of their day‑to‑day roles.
