Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

3/5
First line management role, managing around 30 postal workers.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

3/5
Existing Royal Mail managers weren't very supportive...

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

1/5
Was no structure planned or implemented by Royal Mail. Everything was left to local managers' decision.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

2/5

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
The main issue was related to annual leave periods, which were not taken into consideration. The training provider continued to expect the same level of engagement and assigned an unchanged volume of tasks, projects, and assignments, as though we were fully available at work.
As a result, this led to delays and increased stress. Several of us raised these concerns with the training provider; however, no action was taken to address the issue.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/5
I have learnt a lot of theories but Royal Mail's lack of engagement meant that I mostly performed trivial work and didn't have the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

1/5
No
