Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I run financial and non financial reports for Royal Mail International, ParcelForce Worldwide and Wholesale (Downstream access). These are created through different accounting applications and sent out to senior managers within the organisation via outlook. I also deal with day to day queries from stakeholders and consumers about figures I provide and help find backings or reasons for that.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I very much enjoy my programme as I feel I have developed massively in my role over the last couple years and I am really enjoying the college work, strengthening my knowledge of accounting as a whole. The only small downside would be the wait in between stages of my course as this has set me back time wise a little.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills in my role and have been able to further develop these and my existing ones. For example, I have always had a keen eye, but in my role I have am able to know where to spot any discrepancies if there are any in a report. I have also furthered my teamwork, whilst also improving independence and confidence. I have learnt many skills, particularly in Excel as I am able to create formulas, reports etc

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
On the whole, I do think my programme is very well structured, as I can clearly see what I have left to do on my apprenticeship and what I can do after, when I am finished my course and the possible routes from there. I think the only downside would be the communication with college re: starting times for each level of my apprenticeship
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager couldn't be any me supportive and it helps that he has also undertaken the same course, meaning he can help out on homework, papers, anything I might not fully understand. I also am always allowed to have my study leave when requested
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Again, I receive a lot of support, this time from my college and they are very helpful ensuring I understand what's going on each lesson and if I don't, we have a further look through together
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think on the whole, this qualification so far has helped me a lot with my role as there is a lot of crossover between the two, i.e journals in particular, debits = credits. There is also a lot of work we learn around sustainability, ethics, which does heavily link with me and my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I attend the work christmas party each year and throughout, there are many different activities going on in our office. For example, we have: Sweepstakes, Bingo, Sports hour sessions (random sports for an hour).
