Spend the first year or year and a half in a learning facility and then I am on placements on site shadowing mentors and getting hands on yourself.

Yes I have had the opportunity to enhance my skillset with regards to knowledge and practical work. Would be good if there was more exposure to hand tools.

Yes it has a good structure but my experience was impacted slightly by structural changes but this hasn't impacted my development too much.

It is a great company to work for with fantastic opportunities and benefits. It offers very good apprenticeship programmes that creates a platform for people to learn and develop whether it is there first job opportunity or if they are looking for a change in careers.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AWE?
Grasp the opportunity and embrace the challenge. You will be exposed to a wealth of knowledge and various skillsets, so absorb as much information as you possibly can from mentors, don't be afraid to ask questions as mentors are more than happy to help and just enjoy it.
