Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My day-to-day role involves me looking at our systems, looking at client's policies, shadowing my team members and see how they conduct their role which i will be doing in the future.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love my programme, it honestly is the best thing i could've done at my current age right now. I am able to meet new people, learn about the industry, and do so many other things which is great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Since starting my apprenticeship, i was able to learn new skills such as learning new systems and programmes that my team uses. I was also able to develop existing skills like my use of Excel. Personally Willis has helped me develop my confidence and the ability to talk to other people more confidently, I now don't feel nervous or shy to talk to or meet new people. These skills were developed by having me take part in presentations to other colleagues and interested future apprentices, and by meeting a lot of people since starting.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very well structured, first week of starting, we had people from The Growth Company (Apprenticeship provider), come in and explain the apprenticeship programme and how things are done. Also, every apprentice has access to a mentor from The Growth Company, who they can go to and literally ask anything.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of help internally from WTW, whether from colleagues in my own team or employees from other teams or the Early Careers Team. Every apprentice has access to people from the WTW Early Careers Team, who they can go to and literally ask any question in regards to work or the apprenticeship. Personally in my own team, I've received a lot of help and support since starting, I'd always have a lot of question at the start and my colleagues did their absolute best to answer my questions or even go to other employees and get answers to my question.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of help from the apprenticeship provider to help me achieve my qualifications. The Growth Company, has tutor sessions that run every 1-2 weeks based on the unit apprentices are working on. The Growth Company, also uses an external Tutor platform called the Empower Development which helps with understanding the exam units better through videos made on topics from each unit. Us apprentices receive a lot of help to allow us to pass our exams and achieve our qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I say this a lot to my team members. Since starting 6 months ago, a lot of the apprenticeship work and the units I've learned, LM1 & LM2 were very relevant to my job role that i conduct everyday. For example, because i work in claims, my team has an overview of the whole business. We're involved with the client our P&B team, insurers and external parties like loss adjusters. The apprenticeship work I've been doing has been very relevant in teaching me the process of different parties and how they act, which i then conduct similarly in real life, which again makes it very relevant.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The claims apprentices and I, play golf often. Within my team, we have a social event every month, where we go and eat somewhere at lunch together. Last month I had the pleasure of taking my team to a golfing driving range, and it was a great experience. Also the CII has a lot of professional networking events that go on all year around.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
100% i would recommend WTW to a friend. It's a great place. Very good facilities, lovely people to work with. The culture at WTW is purely built on respect, people here understand real life difficulties and they're always there to support each other. Since moving on from college and starting at WTW, i found it hard at the start to get used to, but my team was always there, offering help and making sure i was comfortable at all times. It's honestly a great place to be in.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Be confident, and it's not always about the qualifications you have. WTW look for individuals who are willing to go the extra mile for the business and other employees.
