Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as operations degree apprentice involves learning the processes and procedures that are followed at NWPC. I shadow and cover frontline managers to see how they manage their teams and how they delegate the workload to meet expected targets.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme because I'm given the opportunity to learn our operations and my off the job hours allow me to focus on my learning and apply this in the workplace.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed and expanded my social skills when it comes to speaking with colleagues and team members, knowing how to communicate with my team to get the best results. I have developed new skills in management theories and techniques that have helped me improve time management and delegation of work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My online course and the content is very well structured offering a healthy balance of weekly learning and CPD questions to follow up on.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive my 8 hours study time off the operational floor each week to make up my monthly off the job hours. Availability for course related meetings has been difficult due to working night shifts.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received full support from the staff at CCL with my learning content and any other issues i may have been experiencing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification definitely helps me perform better in my role although i am limited with applying some of my learning as we are a processing only site rather than customer facing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
We have regular professional networking events available to attend throughout the year such as teams calls and in person networking events.

Would you recommend Royal Mail Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Royal Mail Group to a friend because they are very accepting and inclusive with new workers and provide a safe working environment for all team members.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Royal Mail Group?
I would advise to apply if you're looking to progress yourself in terms of an apprenticeship, my course has been challenging but extremely rewarding so far.
