Business Management Intern Review

On a day-to-day basis I was analysing the business partnering procurement team and the wider team and was working toward planning a governance map for a business unit (Centrica business solutions). I achieved this through regularly setting up meetings with internal team members and external stake holders and cross team colleagues. Furthermore, I was responsible for logistically planning a f2f team meeting with my team members in the office and effectively communicating with all colleagues to achieve this.

I was given many responsibilities during the course of my summer placement.
1) The responsibility of planning the logistics of a f2f meeting in park house
2) Planning a governance structure/ map

Throughout the course of this placement i have boosted my interpersonal skills, specifically my communication and collaboration skills. Throughout my placement I have had the opportunity to network with many individuals from within Centrica, stakeholders, cross-team and external clients. Furthermore, I have boosted my presenting skills through presenting on teams and through my end of placement presentation which gave me the opportunity to present to a group of 60 colleagues and interns. This has boosted my confidence and is a skill i can take forward as I begin my future career.

I was given much support during my placement from my managers and colleagues. Whenever, I had a question my team were more than happy to answer any questions that I may have had.

The company culture was very nurturing and supportive. The emphasis on the care value was visible
