Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role involves helping with various IT audit and administrative tasks required by my team. Occasionally we attend university instead for a few days to prepare for the next ICAEW CFAB exam.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
My communication and Excel skills have improved and so has my understanding of accounting, audit and tax. Otherwise, much of the work isn't particularly challenging at the moment, but I have just started and I'm sure this will come as I spend more time here and take more and more responsibility.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Our university weeks and ICAEW CFAB exams are booked for us on certain dates, which we are able to view in the form of an easy-to-access Excel spreadsheet - the "wallplanner". We have all been assigned to specific teams and managers do intend to give us structured work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We are supported to succeed in our studies (e.g. by being given study leave days) and given the opportunity to resit failed exams. We are given the opportunity to regularly communicate with the more senior members of the team to raise any concerns about work or study.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Each ICAEW CFAB module is taught thoroughly and accompanied by an online forum called "Ask a Tutor a Question". Importantly, we have access to a lot of practice questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Not at the moment, but I'm sure the time will come.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The workplace is very good for this and offers all of the above.

Yes
Why?
If the friend wanted to start a career the NAO could be ideal for him/her - there is good opportunity for "progression" and the people here are very kind and understanding.
