Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role is learning how to spray and finish furniture. My day to day tasks are staining, lacquering and inspecting furniture. I also help in the packing area.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The practical element is decent. There is a lack of rotation for learning the different departments within polishing. The provider ETT needs work. The online work isn't well structured and assessors you are given aren't that well clued up on the system or how the department you work in is run.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed existing polishing skills with staining. I have also learned how to spray furniture both with stain and lacquer.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The practical side is well structured and help is given when required. However the ETT is poorly managed and run. With simple discrepancies being overlooked. A lack of care is apparent.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Ercol is great with support and do want you to succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support given is great but there is a delay in getting the support or any responses.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification I am working towards has very little to do with my job role. It doesn't make me perform my job any better or deepen my knowledge more than is required for the role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We attend teaching shows like the Bucks Skills show. No other extra curricular that I am aware of.

Yes

Certain aspects of ercol I would recommend, like the practical elements. The online work isn't as functional as it should be.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Ercol?
Make sure you have a good work ethic and have a keen interest in furniture or the manufacturing process.
