Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an apprentice surveyor in the housing development and regeneration team. I work across all aspects of the team in the form of valuations, agency and consultancy with a focus on valuations currently. Day-to-day I support package valuations and use models such as DCF's to analyse scheme viability.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I think that the programme is very well delivered and is enjoyable for all apprentices. The company put a big focus and emphasis on their apprenticeship programme and celebrate it through award evenings and more.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new skills every single day during the 6 months I have been here. My development has been rapid and I know far more now than I did when I started thanks to the learning techniques.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well organised to give us apprentices the best chance to get used to the programme and pass important assignments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My line manager in particular does a great job at making me feel rewarded and appreciated whilst also giving me the right reassurance when needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I was not the biggest fan of the idea of an online university course but thus far it has worked better than expected.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
At the moment I have only had the time to complete 2 university modules so much of what I do during work is not related to the course. I am sure this will change with time.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I have attended many social events, I would say it is one of the best parts of working for Savills as they offer a great range of sports activities, social activities and learning events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because I am loving my time here and am glad I made the choice to accept this apprenticeship over going to university.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
Make sure your CV is good enough to stand out but the most important part of the application process is the assessment centre where the most important part is to come across natural. Don't memorise facts that make you sound like a robot, instead give real and genuine reasons for why you are interested and why you think you will be a good choice to hire.
