Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role includes on supporting surveyors in our property management team, communicating directly with clients and site teams as well as internally with accounts teams and credit controllers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I significantly enjoy my apprenticeship and my day to day role as I am interested in real estate and also am able to earn valuable experience in the office working day to day with surveyors, legal teams and accountants.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed skills not only in the job which I had never had experience in prior to my apprenticeship but also in excel, powerpoint, public speaking and communication. I have also developed my understanding of assignments, referencing and laying out a clear and concise submission.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have a clear 'study day' on the same day every week (Friday), to complete my degree work which allows me to have a structure and plan out my weeks and the work that I am doing each week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am supported by my employer with catch ups with HR and the apprentice team, my line manager I am in discussions with daily and there are other apprentices who I met on the induction who I communicate with regularly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have quarterly catch ups with our AOO's provided by the university where we review progress and targets for both university work and our day to day role, as well as being able to communicate with both our aoo's, module leaders and support team for any issues we may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My degree studies help me to better understand relevant subjects to my role that I do not necessarily know much about, such as development and sustainability however having completed these modules I have been able to better understand these subjects and even contribute to supporting on development and ESG discussions.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes we have regular socials both in our team and department, which I attend as well as having smaller social events such as 5 a side that I have played at and an upcoming curling event following the winter olympics!

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think that from speaking to other people my age we are best supported by the company and valued as a member of the team as anyone else is regardless of our age/ experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
I would advise others to show a keen interest in all areas of the business as we have so many moving parts to the business that you have so many opportunities to gain experience in a variety of areas. I would also advise getting relevant work experience to help you to stand out.
