Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Coordinating and supporting learning and development activities across the organisation. This includes booking and scheduling training courses, ensuring employees are enrolled in the appropriate programmes, and managing the learning portal to keep course information accurate and accessible.
I also provide ongoing support to employees throughout their learning journey, helping them access resources, track their progress, and resolve any issues related to their training. Alongside this, I carry out a range of general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of learning and development initiatives, maintaining records, updating systems, and supporting colleagues with training-related queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed my learning programme and the opportunity it has given me to deepen my understanding of learning and development. In particular, I found it valuable to learn about different learning and development models and theories and how they can be applied in a practical workplace setting to support employee growth.
The programme has also helped me develop a better understanding of the financial side of learning and development, including how training budgets are managed and how financial forecasting supports effective planning. I have also gained insight into how learning and development projects are planned and delivered, from identifying needs through to implementation.
Overall, the learning has helped me build the knowledge and confidence to better support employees through change, while helping them develop their skills and progress in their roles. I feel the programme has strengthened my ability to contribute to learning initiatives that support individual development.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Understanding how to design effective learning interventions, as well as how to evaluate the impact of training and measure its effectiveness. I have also developed my knowledge of supporting organisational change, understanding how learning and development can help employees adapt, build resilience, and develop the skills required for evolving roles.
Overall, the apprenticeship has helped me build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support employees in developing their capabilities while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
