Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
What I do on a day-today varies, but most days consist of a daily stand up meeting and a few hours of programming/online courses and some documenting for my apprenticeship. If I am doing a study day, this will consist strictly of my assigned online courses.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I think the WTW side of my programme is well organised and allowed all of us apprentices to get on very well with each other early on. However, on the side with my apprenticeship company (Firebrand) I find that some of the online courses I have can drag on a lot and not teach much. Also, the residential trips I have can get in the way of any actual on the job work I have, and basically teach me everything I have learnt in the videos all over again.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt and developed a lot of skills in my short amount of time with WTW. I feel like my problem solving and algorithmic thinking are two of my skillsets that have improved the most, as well as my ability to communicate with others and engage in useful conversations. I hope to broaden my skillsets even further and develop them to new heights in the future.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think my programme is reasonably well structured. As mentioned before, I think the main thing i dislike is that I watch all of these videos for my apprenticeship course, and then attend a residential which teaches me the same things again, making it feel like a big waste of time. On the WTW side of things, I think all of the activities and networking sessions we have had so far I have always came out of with a new insight/developed skill.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is very supportive. If I have any questions or needs, I just need to ask my manager and they will do what they can to help me. I feel the support I get from my team and others close around me allow me to excel further in my job role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Not so much my training provider, but my learning mentor from my training provider has been very helpful. Any questions I have they will answer timely and in detail, allowing me to work quicker and waste no time pondering about what I am meant to be doing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The topics I cover in my apprenticeship closely relate to what I do in my job role and at times, they have aligned with tasks I am carrying out in my actual job role, preventing me from having to research certain topics. There is also a good level of detail, not becoming too overwhelming but giving enough information to understand the topics.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is always something going on here at WTW, whether it be an early careers event, or any extra curricular meetings giving insight to what is going on in the world. Personally, I have attended a few of the early careers meetings, providing a nice change of pace in my day, and allowing me to make new connections in the workplace.

I think the community at WTW outshines most other places. There is always high levels of support available and friendly faces all around. Most people love to engage in conversation and its interesting learning about the different departments and job roles.
