Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is as a Business Support Assistant - Risk, but to break it down I'm a software engineering apprentice. My day to day involves python scripting, automation, webapp development and working with internal company apps.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I've been enjoying it a lot, I personally only had a little python experience before starting but in 6 months of working here I feel a lot more confident.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new skills ranging from software design, to working with different programming languages such as C# and Typescript, and also how to collaborate with others with software development. Just as I said before I have also developed my own python skills a lot as learning with real world problems is great.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is quite well structured, it is a routine of 4 days in work and 1 day of online uni. That day was Wednesday when I started but got changed to a Friday after my first term.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support especially regarding things I don't have any knowledge about. Since WTW is an insurance company, I do need some help regarding understanding what my task is which is accounted for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive good support from my training provider as I have a mentor that checks in with me often where I can ask questions or ask for advice.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
As of yet my training from the Uni side has not been directly impactful to my day to day at work, since its mainly topics that are high level, hopefully this isn't the case later down the line.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes we do have social events that have been fun and I have a professional networking event to attend later in the year.
