Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a legal support service apprentice, I am part of the Practice Administration team which helps lawyers and their PA's by doing jobs for them. We upload invoices, process and send out bills, expenses, create newsletters for the company and a lot more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Fielfisher itself is an amazing company to work in and the apprenticeship is also really enhancing my skills and developing myself professionally.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to more effectively navigate a computer and this has lead me to learn new shortcuts, how to use different apps required and improved my efficiency when using a computer. It has also developed my communication skills professionally.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The team and careers department have been very supportive during my time here. They have always been on the look out for any opportunities that could enhance our experiences as apprentices and develop our skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Always available and very friendly. My employer is very approachable and supportive when it comes to the apprenticeship programme and they are always looking out for us.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The Belfast MET teachers have been outstanding as they have plenty of experience when it comes to this course and they make it really easy to understand.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The course does develop knowledge on how the business is ran through requiring us to use examples from the company in the work but overall it doesn't make that much of a difference to how I do or see my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes. There is always a social event happening nearly every week and the apprentices are always invited. There have been quiz nights, games nights, christmas celebrations, sports and a lot more.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Fieldfisher LLP to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Very friendly and supportive company. The people working here are amazing and get along with each other. The work is also intriguing and fun to do while also enhancing professional skills such as using a computer, teamwork and communication.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fieldfisher LLP?
Go outside of your comfort zone and be talkative. They value teamwork and taking the initiative, especially in a group setting, as they can always train your IT skills if they are not up to speed.
