Attended various placements giving me experience working with different people in both physical and mental health settings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The range of placements helped me develop my skills as an occupational therapist.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am able to complete basic and complex assessments including home visits, kitchen assessments, washing and dressing assessments.
Communication with other members of the MDT has improved and I have built solid relationships with staff, patients and families.

I was supported throughout the course, I was given regular study days, supervision, and mentoring.

I now look at things from the perspective of an OT rather than an assistant, this helps me look more closely at what the patient needs ot allow them to achieve their chosen goal or occupation.

Why?
The trust has allowed me to achieve a recognised qualification in OT, I would not have been able ot afford the degree if the trust did not offer the apprenticeship route.
