I am an apprentice early years educator. My job role requires me to provide high quality care to children whilst helping to promote their learning and development.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Completing my apprenticeship has taught me lots of information that has benefitted my practice hugely! My EPA is next week and I have really enjoyed the duration of my apprenticeship.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I went into the job not knowing anything and now I am a week away from my EPA and I have learnt everything from basic in practice skills such as nappy changing all the way to statutory framework legislations and theorists relating to practice!
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

There are a nice mixture of various tasks of professional discussions, written assignments, observations. There are monthly calls with the tutor as a check in and to complete assignments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I haven’t had a lot of support throughout the duration of my apprenticeship or given much time out to complete work so the majority of it has been completed in my own time. I would have liked to have received more support throughout.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor is AMAZING! I couldn’t praise her enough! She has always supported me and answered any of my questions that I have bombarded her with. Always set me assignments early if I was ready for the next lot and been so encouraging all the time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have knowledge that I can put into practice that I wouldn’t have knew if I didn’t complete this apprenticeship. It has helped me gain a holistic understanding of how everything relates into my practice and allows me to be a better practitioner.

Would you recommend Busy Bees Childcare to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a lovely setting of work. The way the curriculum plans support the children is amazing and the parent parternship working is fab! There is a good network of people to speak to if you need that extra support.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Busy Bees Childcare?
Be yourself and always put the children first! For most of the children, nursery is their second home so support them by providing them with the best opportunities in order to grow and develop to their full potential!
