Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I completely enjoy my role on a day to day basis. I oversee the People Team, who cover Human Resources, Learning and Development, People Admin, and Health and Safety.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The apprenticeship programme that i have embarked upon is very enjoyable. It has opened me up to innovative ways of dealing with People Culture as a business. I think it will improve the way i carry out my role and my effectiveness. But also develop me as a person.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I feel that the apprenticeship i have undertaken will encourage me to continuously develop myself. I have been introduced to Authors and people within industry that i will continue to follow, to keep up to date with people theories and methods of development for our business.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well structured. It is set out for us how we can achieve the module SKEBS outcomes. We are given time to plan assignments. The Uni provide additional skills workshops that you can attend on topics such as academic writing, referencing etc.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer encourages personal development. We are given time off the job to complete uni. My line manager is supportive at review meetings and looks for ways in assisting with my development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has additional skills workshops, writing days (when coming up to an assignment deadline) and clearly sets out the SKEB's needed to be covered to achieve each module.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have learned ways in which to develop myself. I have been able to assess my own characters and behaviours through a 360 feedback exercise. It has also opened me up to Authors and Industry figures that i now follow, for guidance on development as a leader, communication styles etc. All of which will help me to develop in my role and further.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Work are always keen to promote employee engagement. Organising out of work social activities. However, we are also moving to new premises, which has been specifically chosen for the area, and the facilities we will be able to access as a resident business. Such as Gym's, Padel Court, eating places etc

Why?
Longworth are a successful and driven business, who have recently gone through a period of expansion and growth, but have not lost the close #TeamLongworth mentality. We support each other as a team, and encourage each other. This is the best company culture i have experienced. Having work in small businesses, up to large corporate bodies. Where a positive culture can be lost
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Longworth Building Services?
I would definitely recommend others to come into the business with a growth mindset. To develop personally, and to be part of growth as a team.
