Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
During my apprenticeship, I worked as an Administration Assistant within the Legal, Risk, Compliance & Company Secretariat (LRCS) team. My role involved providing essential operational and administrative support across the department to ensure smooth day to day functioning.
On a typical day, I handled tasks such as managing shared inboxes, organising meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, maintaining trackers, and ensuring documents were stored and labelled correctly. I supported the wider LRCS team with compliance related workflows, helping with due‑diligence tasks, data gathering, and keeping key records up to date. I also assisted with onboarding new colleagues and interns, arranging introductions, and acting as an initial point of contact. The role required strong organisation, accuracy, and communication, as I was often coordinating between different teams and ensuring information was recorded and actioned promptly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoyed my apprenticeship programme. It gave me the chance to develop professionally while gaining hands‑on experience in a busy and supportive team. I felt trusted with meaningful responsibilities from early on and always had opportunities to learn new skills, whether through day to day tasks, exposure to senior colleagues, or structured training like workshops and CII study.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes - I’ve developed stronger organisational, communication and administrative skills, and gained new knowledge in compliance processes, due diligence tasks and handling information accurately. My confidence with systems, problem‑solving and working with different teams has also grown a lot.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme was well organised overall. The structure was clear, the expectations were easy to follow, and I always knew what support and training were available. The balance between on the job learning and formal development made it feel consistent and well planned.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive strong support from my employer. My manager and the wider LRCS team have always been approachable, helpful and willing to guide me through new tasks. I’ve had regular check‑ins, feedback, and opportunities to develop, which has made the programme feel very supported.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I’ve received consistent support from my training provider, especially with preparing for assessments and staying on track with coursework. They were responsive, provided useful resources, and offered guidance whenever I needed it, which helped me progress confidently through the qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel my qualification has helped me perform much better in my role. Studying for the CII exams strengthened my understanding of insurance, financial crime and market security — knowledge I now apply directly in tasks like screening, reviewing PI insurance, and supporting LRCS processes. It’s given me more confidence and made my day‑to‑day work more effective
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are plenty of extra‑curricular activities at work. Within LRCS, we have an active social team that organises regular events such as karaoke nights, Bingo, hikes and drinks, as well as larger department‑wide socials. There are also charity and CSR volunteering opportunities. These activities make it easy to get involved, meet people and feel part of the wider team.
