Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

It changes depending on my 6-month placement, currently I am in the cyber security & risk team where I manage EON's vulnerabilities by contacting the correct people to try reduce the risk of infiltration.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

From uni to the work place, there isn't a part where I don't enjoy. From busy days to quiet days and team day outs. Everyone who works for E.ON are lovely and try make your experience as an apprentice as useful and interesting as possible so there isn't a dull moment.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

There isn't a skill that I had before joining, that wasn't developed and the new skills I have made within just the 6 months of being here is easily the most progress I have ever made compared to any other 6 months of my life.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured with uni and time schedules however they leave a month area of changing placements so you can choose when you want to leave. On top of this it also is extremely flexible with us as we get to choose where we want our next placement to be.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

E.ON is if not the best, one of the best at supporting apprentices. There is a seemingly infinite amount of options for each issue and we have many different people we can turn to. We have Mentors, placement managers, line managers, HR managers, team members and probably the most useful of them all, older apprentices. They help pave the path for our devlopment and are always happy to help. Comparing this to what I have heard from other companies, this is easily better than every company's support I have heard about.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Nottingham Trent University is extremely helpful and al;wyas looking for improvements to make the course better for following years to come. This can be changes like work-load, due dates or even course modules as technology changes.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Yes, especially for apprentices, there are many team days which are each hosted at different venues and apprentices tend to be invited to multiple ones.

Why?
There really hasn't ever been a bad word murmed about E.ON. It is a people-prioritising company that always supports their workers. It is a place that makes you feel appreciated and helps you realise you want the company to do well. This means you end up working hard not for yourself but for the company that is giving you opportunities and support and appreciating your achievements.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to E.ON UK?
Try your hardest and don't give up because if you make it then the company will reflect this back at you.
