Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role currently involves a mix of design work, calculations and contractor correspondence as well as onsite maintenance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my program. Both the work and the university learning have been interesting and fun.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
yes. Time management is the skill I've developed the most because I've needed to balance my university studies and coursework with the work I do in my job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
At work, we get to change placements every 6 months to move around the business. This helps us gain skills and learn what we enjoy doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We have lots of support. Regular check-ins from our early careers team and quarterly check-ins between university and our manager.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Lots of support. We have regular check-ins to ensure you're able to complete our knowledge, skills and behaviours at work. We have lots of support if you have a disability and need accommodations. The lectures are great and always willing to help out with coursework or any part of the course and they also check in our our wellbeing and safety at work and at university.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Lots of the overall skills are applicable, but not all of what we learn in uni is directly used in my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, I've been to a few networking event and some social event with both my team and the other apprentices.
