Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
In my experience as a Project Management Degree Apprentice at E.ON, I’ve developed a wide range of skills that have genuinely transformed how I work. One of the biggest areas of growth has been my confidence—presenting to senior leaders, speaking in front of large groups, and collaborating with new teams quickly became part of my routine, and I’ve become far more comfortable communicating professionally. Rotating through different placements has strengthened my project planning and delivery skills, giving me hands‑on experience supporting real projects across areas like change management, construction, and digital transformation. I’ve also built strong stakeholder management skills, working closely with colleagues, leadership teams, and mentors to deliver meaningful outcomes for the business. On top of that, I’ve gained financial awareness through budgeting and cost‑control tasks, and I’ve developed a sharper understanding of strategic planning within a large organisation. The role has also helped me grow my skills in creating presentations, reports, and spreadsheets has become second nature, and I’ve learned to adapt quickly whether working remotely or onsite. Overall, the apprenticeship has given me a blend of technical, interpersonal, and organisational skills that I know will stay with me throughout my career.
