Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role at Kido, I support the daily running of the preschool room to ensure children are safe, happy, and engaged. Each day I help follow routines such as arrivals, meals, toileting, outdoor play, and rest times, while maintaining health and safety. I plan and deliver activities in line with the EYFS and Kido curriculum, supporting children’s learning through play. I also complete observations, update learning records, and communicate with parents and the team to meet each child’s individual needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme a lot. It is helping me build my knowledge and confidence, and I can use what I learn directly in my day-to-day work with the children. I also like that I get regular support and feedback from my team, which motivates me to keep improving.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learned new skills and improved existing ones. I have developed stronger planning and delivery of EYFS activities, and I’m more confident with observations, assessments, and identifying children’s next steps. I have also improved my communication with parents and teamwork skills, including supporting routines, behaviour management, and adapting practice to meet individual needs.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well organised and clearly structured. The goals and expectations are explained from the start, and the training follows a clear order that links well to my day-to-day role. I also get regular check-ins and feedback, which helps me stay on track and understand what I need to improve.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer. My manager and colleagues are approachable, give me regular feedback, and guide me whenever I need help. They also make time for my apprenticeship tasks and give me opportunities to practise new skills in the room. I also really appreciate that I was given the opportunity to progress even before finishing the programme, which is a big encouragement and gives me a strong “wind at my back” to keep improving.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my training provider. Communication is regular and clear, and they are always available if I have questions. They support me with helpful materials and guidance, and the observations and feedback I receive help me understand my progress and improve my practice.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has helped me perform better in my role by giving me stronger knowledge and practical skills that I can use every day. It also gives me the opportunity to progress further, complete additional courses, and keep improving my understanding and confidence. Because of this, I can offer the best of myself to the children, parents, and my employer, and it supports my personal goal to keep developing and moving forward.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are extra opportunities to get involved at Kido, including family events such as open days/webinars and workshops, as well as internal training and development activities. There are also company celebrations/awards and team social activities that help build a positive team culture.
