Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role is an apprentice. I work from 8:00-16:00 from Monday to Friday. I work all different types of jobs, from schools to factories. I paint walls, ceilings, floors and woodwork. I learnt from the person I work with and have gained skills overtime.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot, I work for a good firm and work with good people who teach me well. I get provided with PPE and clothing. And the office at my branch provides support in case I need it.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learned a lot of skills along the time of my apprenticeship. Rolling, cutting in, painting ceilings, walls and floors. And I’ve done wallpapering at college. I just need help with painting doors.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship is organised with equipment and paint is ready for us whenever we go on a new job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get excellent support from the office in my branch
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

It can differ, depending on who I work with and what job we are on. If we are on a job where we are very busy I don’t get much teaching but if it’s a job where the person has time to teach I get fully taught.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps with showing that I know what I’m doing and that I have prior and current experience with painting and are able to show it when working on the job to my training provider.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I haven’t had the knowledge of any extra-curricular activities at work. I haven’t been told about anything.

Work hard, stick to their policies and be polite to customers and enjoy ur time working here because it’s a good firm.
