Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Managing worksites on a civil engineering project. Ensuring H&S procedures are followed. Managing the workforce in terms of tasks, documentation and resources required to perform tasks planned.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my roe and with the academic knowledge learned during the university part of the course I am able to ensure that I follow the correct procedures and also explore new ways of doing my role.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Putting the knowledge learned from uni into practice in the workplace has expanded skills on managing work and people to a great extend.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structure. I have allocated time for academic learning and time for practical experience. This is closely monitored by my workplace mentor who guides me along the way to grow into the best version of who I can be and how to perform my role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider (Sheffield Hallam University) is providing an outstanding course with lectures who have a world of knowledge in their respective fields but who are also extremely passionate about passing on that knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The knowledge learned from uni allows me to better understand the academic parts of my rile. This knowledge is then used during my working day on site to implement and grow in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Being in the construction industry and living away from home the opportunities for that is limited, but Kier provides very good schemes to join a local gym etc.

Look at the industry and understand what exactly it is you want to do. Be willing to learn and try new things. Even if you're out of your comfort zone, Kier will support you to become the best version of you.
