Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Solving engineering problems out on test rigs for fuel and landing gear systems. Testing the systems, doing data collection, analysis and reporting. Liaising with test teams, suppliers and contractors , the design office and customers. Great for networking and get to see the end to end process from design to part on the test aircraft.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Uni provides the basics and you extend your knowledge at work, surrounded by experts in subject matters. There is always someone ready to have a chat with you to help you understand the tasks and point you in the right direction to figure out the problem at hand.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Really good for developing your technical skills, but also soft skills like presenting to managers or technicians for the workk required

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well structured, I would suggest doing more of the university subject to be done at university rather than at college as the standards of teaching are better.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support from Airbus is really good, they give you the right resources and time to focus on your studies as well as a network of people to rely on for advice .
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The university provides the necessary support when required, responding to our queries on time & quality .
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It gives me a good foundation on the topics at work, but lacks that industry application of how things are applied in the real world .
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Volunteering, tennis, football, there's time to have that work-life balance

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Airbus to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes, it is a good company that looks after its employees and gives you opportunities to progress your career, learn and network.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Airbus?
Have good examples of your skills and technical knowledge showing you are a right fit with the company values: Customer focus, integrity, respect, creativity, reliability and teamwork.
