Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Moving around the various business areas every 4 months, my degree apprenticeship role gives me the opportunity to learn about the different factors affecting day to day business operations, and how Airbus go about their operations. This gives me the opportunity to create a large network over the 3 years, and helps my professional development.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My program is an opportunity that very few people have the privilege to undertake post 18. Gaining such valuable work experience in conjunction with the university degree is invaluable to my personal development and career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My communication skills, confidence, managing stakeholders and presenting skills have progressed massively since I started the program, through opportunities within the workplace and at the university. These skills are transferable as I move between placements, and will therefore stay with me for the duration of the program and beyond.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Regular 4 month rotations are in place to ensure everybody receives the same opportunities and exposure to the different departments within Airbus.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Regular reviews and catchups take place to monitor progress and review where I am in terms of progress towards my objectives. Any concerns are swiftly dealt with in a professional manner.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Regular tutorial sessions along with fast communication helps me to utilise the training provider to the best of my ability.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The course studied is relevant in some areas to my role, but not as relevant in others, this largely depends on how the content is delivered.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are opportunities to take part in a range of sporting activities which run on a weekly basis, as well as opportunities to be involved in the community surrounding Airbus, inspiring the younger generations to consider a career with Airbus.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Airbus to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The oppurutnites to develop your personal and social skills are ones that you cannot get through other providers. The program is well structured, with the regular rotations ensuring that you get such a wide variety of experiences to help your understanding of how the business operates.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Airbus?
Be you! Don't be scared to talk and share your aspirations and achievements, we are all similarly minded.
