Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I do a range of general administration work, including helping to maintain spreadsheet work, track books and records within the company, do bookings for events, help with internal post distribution and am currently building up my work supporting specific teams within the organisation with their administration needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I generally enjoy my programme, and am currently striving to achieve an effective balance between college work and my work within the company.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

As someone with a smaller amount of prior experience in this sector, i have learnt a great deal within this role. I have developed lots of new skills and grown my confidence in communicating with members in my company and outside clients in a professional way. Since being here, i believe i have learned a host of useful and transferable skills regarding organisation, how to effectively prioritise tasks, how different business processes work, and am continuing to grow my knowledge on how to use the different types of software.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think it is well structured, i feel equally supported by both the employer and the training provider and i think the structure is generally well balanced.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer has a range of procedures in place to ensure i feel well supported and have the necessary channels if i ever have any issues within my job.
I think a slightly more structured training plan may be useful to implement for the future, just to make sure processes are fully understood by trainees before being put into place.
The organisation make an open and friendly environment to voice any concerns which is maintained and encouraged by the team that i work with.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I think the training provider generally supports you to provide a high standard of work. I think that slightly more in depth lessons are sometimes needed, just for adequate detail is able to be put into assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think quite a lot of what i learn with my training provider is almost directly transferable within my job. Learning about business legislation and procedures helps you to understand your company better as well as being able to understand why they implement certain processes, also, i find that the real world scenarios that are used are relatable to what you may experience in your job, which makes it easier to learn how to try and avoid mistakes and work efficiently.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have social activities within our teams, these could be meals out, games nights, or any fun activity that allow the team to get to know each other better. We also have charities that we support- this allows us to go to different volunteering events both within working hours and outside of work.

I think it is a good company in terms of its approach to employee wellbeing and i think the overall environment is productive and friendly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PM+M Solutions for Business LLP?
I think, especially since PM+M has quite a lot of employees, getting to know the different people within the business while your still new makes it less daunting for the future.
