Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves managing the full recruitment lifecycle for clients across Stoke on Trent, specialising in HGV and van drivers. On a day-to-day basis, this includes working closely with clients to understand their hiring needs, advertising them on job boards and social media, and developing recruitment strategies to attract the right talent. I screen and interview candidates, completing reference checks, RTW checks and licence checks as well as assessing their suitability and identify which companies may be a good match to them. I also focus on building and maintaining long term relationships wioth both clients and candidates, negotiating rates, managing expectations and ensuring a positive experience of our services.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my role and apprenticeship very much, it has been difficult at times to give my full attention and focus on apprenticeship tasks when in our job role we have had a system change however I did receive plenty of support from my trainer.

I have learnt new skills such as negotiating techniques, Interviewing techniques and i have enhanced existing skills such as confidence in different aspects such as communicating with clients and candidates.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised programme, i have a table of everything that is required to complete the apprenticeship with regular check in meetings, reviews and support through teams from my tutor. My tutor understand what is the best way of learning for me and has tailored his way of tutoring me to ensure i get the most out of the programme.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive amazing support from my employer, if i am ever unsure on something I am given clear guidance and regular check ins and reviews are conducted.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Completing this qualification has helped me tremendously with my job role, I have much more confidence in what i am doing which is important when engaging with clients and candidates in order to build a sense of trust. It has also helped me to understand legals aspects of my role more thoroughly, and enhanced my interviewing skills and negotiating techniques. Overall it has helped me to be more successful in my role.
