Detailed insight into the practice areas of Linklaters and how the firm operates as a commercial law firm business. Opportunity to get involved in real-life work set by your principal in the respective seat that you are placed in.
How would you rate the structure of the insight

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I received a detailed understanding about the business through opportunities to chat with lawyers across different levels and practices across the firm, as well as with senior leadership of the firm. I also received a detailed insight into the trainee rule (which would come with the training contract) through being assigned trainee buddies.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
During the scheme I was able to enhance some of my existing skills. Especially time management and resource allocation was tested throughout the scheme through balancing different streams of work. Additionally, a lot of emphasis was also placed on collaboration, attention to detail and being personable.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was very friendly and lawyers across the firm across all levels were open and willing to chat about their practice area but also to give you personal insights about their experience at the firm.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight, giving me a great opportunity to gain a detailed insight into the workings of a commercial law firm as well as the practice areas offered across the firm, especially focused on the one I was seated in.
