Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Airbus?
My experience during my graduate scheme at Airbus was incredible. I had the opportunity to work in different departments and gain a broad overview of the company. I was able to contribute to several projects throughout the scheme, which was very rewarding. I recommend it to anyone passionate about aeronautical engineering.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I completed five rotations in total. The main responsibilities were agreed with the placement managers during the first week of each placement and usually involved learning about the team’s activities and supporting ongoing tasks in the department. What I enjoyed the most was the professional treatment I received from all the engineers and their openness to answer my questions and listen to me.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
I managed to contribute to the teams I worked with, which was very rewarding and made me feel part of the team.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
I had the freedom to organise, together with my future manager, the placements I was most interested in and that would bring the most value to my future role. Therefore, I believe I made the most of each placement to develop the skills I needed.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
There are plenty of trainings available to develop skills at Airbus, but I would say I learned the most from my day-to-day, hands-on activities.
