Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
The experience at BAE Systems is top class, lots of resources for learning, lots of support and the work benefits keep you well looked after.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Software Engineering, Designing, Prototyping, Implementing software.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Lots of opportunities to shine within the team/business. Including large events, presentations and project work.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

You get access to lots of services (including health) and discounts. The flexible working and some roles have hybrid nature making it much easier on your work life balance.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Very early days, but there's an opportunity or event, or training programme at every step of the way. There is always ways to develop, there is also a strong push for doing the career that you want to do.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Learning and developing new skills everyday, some I have never came across or had to utilise before. It does push you beyond your limits which is really nice (without pressure)

How is the support you receive?

Support was very good. Although during the onboarding period before you start the role, there is frequent check ins from the company. However, nothing can tell you about the role you will actually be doing in detail which can be a bit stressful for months not knowing the job you will actually do.
How is your work-life balance?

Flexible working and hybrid makes life much easier and happier for me. One of the main standouts to working here. Not having to commute on a Monday/Friday makes my life better.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

More than happy for you to work remote a couple days a week, this depends on the role of course. Manager always seem happy to do what is best for me, so if I have a cold, I can just work remotely and not spread germs in the office.

No stands out, I don't engage too much but seems like there are resources and groups out there to support this.

Why?
Your wellbeing, your pocket, your work life balance are all well looked after. Most importantly, it really does challenge you to develop all your skills to their maximum potential.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

Doing the role I applied for, which was quite vague but based on other software engineering jobs it seems appropriate.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Don't overthink applying, just do it. Especially interview questions, they just want to know you are human and have competent experiences to fit into the work culture.
