Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Hi, I am currently an electrical engineer intern at SLB at Stonehouse Technology Centre.
My work is centred around the PowerDrive family of rotary steerable systems (RSS)
• Worked on wireless receivers communicating between PowerDrive RSS and MWD tools
• Gained hands-on experience with PWA testing, antennas, digital & analogue electronics
• Worked with senior engineers and teams on releasing engineering documentation.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I am proud to say I've been given substantial responsibility by my manager. This has made me feel like a valuable asset to SLB.
Some of my responsibilities included:
• Analysing and simulating circuit board behaviour via SPICE software
• Releasing, revising and managing engineering documentation, including field test kits, lab reports, functional test specs and SWIs in SLB's global engineering database.
• Conducting failure analysis on circuit boards at the PWA level from field jobs
• Building, sharing interdisciplinary knowledge with senior MEs, EEs, SQEs & SWEs & supply chain.
• Working with engineers from US Land, MENA, Europe, China and India
• Presenting in weekly team meetings and project catchups
