Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
I have found it quite interesting and has helped develop my personal and professional behaviours as well as getting a better understanding of how industry functions.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Ensuring correct engineering process throughout the lifecycle from bid to reaching the customer.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I bid projects, a very important part of the engineering lifecycle, so my role feels meaningful, my line manager will often have discussions with me to share how he feels I am performing.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

It is giving me training and experience working with an engineering lifecycle and has also let me have visibility on how more hands on engineering is done.

Often have different training courses to develop and learn new things, my role also deals with a wide range of tasks which develop my understanding because of seeing how it's management changes.

Because of flexi-time and the ability to work from home it is easy to keep a healthy work-life balance, I don't end up working later than I should do so I can keep that balance.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Positive, inclusive and very open atmosphere with good organisational values that keep the atmosphere positive.

BAE are well known for having very ahead of the game initiatives and this is definitely felt in the company with frequent memos sent out to remind employees of company schemes that can be utilised.

Good employee benefits as well as good support offered and such a wide range of roles that you never have to leave if you don't want to.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
It wasn't exactly the role I had expected, but this is down to my own error, the role does live up to how it was described.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be patient, it takes a long time because of the number of applicants.
