Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Worcester Bosch Group?
I would say that working here for the last 5 months has made me realise that it is quite a relaxed and friendly work environment. My success and enjoyment of the advanced apprentice scheme is also very much based on how much effort I am willing to put in e.g to take on responsibilities/experiences outside of my day-to-day role. The company have a good work culture and do focus on early career development as I currently work/socialise with a large group of interns and other graduates.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main role consists of product development, working to test prototype or sample appliances in order to make sure they operate correctly and feedback results, conclusions and recommendations to the design team who I work closely with. I enjoy the independence of being able to work on completing various tests and creating my own test plans in order to investigate product related issues. The role requires a level of communication to relay and plan testing with other areas within research & development and this is something I am looking forward to develop further.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
4/5
My day-to-day work has given me a chance to make a contribution to the progress of the current projects which has been rewarding from a personal sense. I haven't had a real sense of being valued from the team in terms of a direct comments but by being allocated more work to do I do think that it shows a growing level of trust and responsibility within the team.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
The Bosch pension scheme is something that I think is valuable as an employee here as well as the numerous benefits that can be claimed on perkbox. The company also has a wide range services available to help with mental health which I think is important.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
4/5
I think this role will help develop my foundational engineering knowledge as well as understanding of how real engineering processes are implemented within product development and production. The flexible work environment and opportunities to access training and development is something that I value on this graduate scheme.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
The training that I took part in at Worcester's onsite training academy helped my develop product knowledge and understanding of how heating appliances function. This has directly impacted my knowledge and confidence in my daily role. There are various trainings available online that can be booked which focus closer on engineering principles, company values. I think there will be various opportunities to develop skills throughout my time here as a graduate.
