Overall, how would you describe your experience at Cisco?
Joining Cisco as a graduate has really accelerated my skills development as an engineer. The scale of Cisco's operations have provided me with learning opportunities that would be difficult to find elsewhere. Working within such a large organisation means encountering deep technical challenges. It is great to learn with SME's to learn, build and automate, to help solve these operational problems.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
As a Site Reliability Engineer, I am responsible for maintaining the infrastructure at Cisco IT, ensuring that there is high availability, performance, and reliability across our infrastructure. We do this through automation, and tooling.
My role involves, automation, incident response, and implementing solutions to prevent future outages. When issues arise, we are expected to follow troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
There is a real focus on AI, and on how the benefits can be leveraged within Cisco IT.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Cisco offers a great learning platform with access to resources including Udemy, Pluralsight, and instructor-led courses.
We can also learn through internal knowledge sharing sessions led by subject matter experts, where senior's share their knowledge and skills.

Cisco offers good work-life balance. There might be some adjustment required to coordinate across San Jose and Bangalore time zones, but the company accommodates different schedules and maintains respect for personal time.
