Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I truly love my role, I spend half of my time teaching apprentices how to cook and the other part leading kitchen inductions for our new head chefs and general managers across the company. while still having time to complete my apprenticeship work.
working with a wide array of different people and giving them the skills to progress further and achieve more than they thought they could
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am learning so much on the program and reflecting on things I have experienced in a different ways, accepting that things may not work the first time but through reflecting on our actions we can always improve. I love being challenged in a supportive way

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Both, I have been able to use my past experience as a resource for further growth, reflecting and challenging my past choices and focusing my next steps in the best manner.
with lots of direction I am learning aspects of coaching that I had never considered before and within my group the ability to debate and discuss what works best for each other

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
with a busy workload it was important to me that my course was flexible enough for me to work it around my roles but with firm milestones to make sure I was on track to complete in a timely manner.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
i could not ask for more, I am given time to complete work when needed and the scope to try out the things I am learning in a safe space where I am receive feedback from different sources as needed. With many of my peers either having completed the same course and quite a few on the course currently there is always someone who can offer support if any more was needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
this is not the first qualification I have done with Lifetime training and they were one of the reasons I chose to do this course, I have an assigned Learning coach who will answer any questions I have promptly and will always support any needed further learning. I feel I have a high level of support
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
my entire role is training others and my level 5 coaching qualification is really adding another layer to the support and development I can offer other people
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
within Mitchells and butlers there are many extra-curricular groups and events with sports teams, fantasy football divisions, coffee morning, Friday social events, team meeting, divisional socials, run clubs, book clubs and many others

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Mitchells and Butlers to a friend?
Yes
Why?
because I already do, many times.
We are a people company that runs well over 1500 pubs and restaurants, people are the block that everything else is built on, be have a strong focus on internal progression and do offer many opportunities for people to go as high as they want to within the company. I use my own story as well as I started with the company as a head chef and have now progressed into a corporate role
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells and Butlers?
be honest and open about what you want from day 1, if you perform well and want to progress there isn't a limit to where you could get to.
