Every day start with Shelf space check report and overall material inward reports. Manager divided the task and roles on the floor every day with particular category. My role in Booker have added value to the team and objective by supporting key operational areas that are essential to business operations and daily achievement which lead to the success. By managing stock replenishment and overseeing the dispatch of online orders for shopkeepers, I contributed to maintaining a smooth supply chain and ensuring timely product availability—both of which are crucial for customer satisfaction and sales objectives.
Additionally, my work in stock control and merchandising helped enhance the in-store customer experience and supported efficient inventory management. I also played a key part in reducing waste and improving product accessibility by redesigning layouts for the confectionery and grocery departments and implementing a system to monitor and manage expiry dates. This not only optimized shelf turnover but also supported profitability and sustainability goals.
Beyond routine tasks, I supported the team by training a new joiner, which helped maintain operational continuity and built team capability. My involvement in retail development visits further aligned with the company’s broader strategic goals of market understanding and business expansion.

Yes i got responsibilities and autonomy as well during my tenure. My Placement at Booker was an overall inclusion on all the roles necessary for running a branch operation. During time to time my supervisor, Branch Manager Area Sales Manager has helped me in grooming my capabilities in different verticals of all areas like Stock Management, Merchandising, Business and retail development, During my placement, my major role involved managing stock replenishment, arranging dispatches for online orders placed by shopkeepers, overseeing stock control, and supporting merchandising activities. I was responsible for ensuring that inventory levels were maintained efficiently by reducing the dead stock chances and making regular availability of product at the shelves, orders were processed and dispatched accurately, and the store layout and product presentation met the regular compliance and standards.
As the year progressed, my responsibilities remained consistent but expanded in scope. In addition to my regular duties, I was given the valuable opportunity to accompany the Retail Development Manager on market visits to acquire new franchise for Bookers Convenience store like Premier and Family Shoppers. This experience allowed me to gain insights into retail development strategies, customer engagement, and competitor analysis like Bestway and perfett, providing me with a broader understanding of the business beyond day-to-day operations.
Overall, the placement has not only met but exceeded my initial expectations. I expected to learn about internal store operations, but the exposure to retail development activities added significant value to my professional growth. It gave me a more holistic view of how different departments work together to drive business success.

I got very good support from my Manager and Area Sales Manager for overall growth. was very helpful in taking me into the details of all necessary reports and giving me opportunities in different roles. He was timely taking brief from me and my supervisor on how i am doing and whether i need any other support to grow. During my placement I had several valuable opportunities for personal and professional development. One of the key experiences was being given the responsibility to train all the new joiner in understanding and managing overall branch operations. This not only strengthened my leadership and communication skills but also deepened my understanding of daily operational workflows. Also it helped me in gaining effective team recognitions and helped me in gaining reputation as team player. I have always respected among my juniors and seniors
In addition to that, I was entrusted with managing the layout and organization of the confectionery and grocery departments of the Branch. This involved planning effective merchandising strategies, optimizing shelf space, and establishing systems to monitor expiry dates and reduce stock wastage (Effectively management of FEFO i.e First Expire First Out. I also implemented practices to ensure better product availability, contributing to an improved customer experience.
These added responsibilities provided me with hands-on experience in operational planning, team support, and retail strategy—skills that are highly valuable for my long-term career goals

The company culture was very excellent. I felt like treated with priority on daily tasks. I was always welcomed for support and feedback. Managers door were always open and all the respective suprvisor were humble through out the training.

It was great choice to work at the reputed company. It has changed my perspective on how crucial business operations are in retail industry. How every department coordinates with each other and takes crucial decisions. I am grateful for the opportunity
