Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
My experience was very good overall, the graduate scheme was well structured with workshops every few months with the rest being on the job learning in your role. the scheme provided a good level of support tailored to each graduate in my experience. There is lots of opportunity to develop with courses and further learning and management encourage you to find things that you are interested so you are not pigeon holed.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My role is to work with process planners and operators and ensure that the build of components are running efficiently with minimal defects. it involves collaborating with different people across the business and it is one of the things I enjoy the most. It also includes developing new processes to ensure the company is always innovating and improving.

The role gives plenty of opportunities to contribute and there is a variety of ways to work. My team makes me feel valued by listening to my thoughts on situations and ask for my input on most things and are keen to support my continued development
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
The compensation package is really good probably one of the highest salaries I have seen advertised for a graduate role. The benefits are salary sacrificed along with pension and share scheme.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
The graduate scheme is you being in a team just like a new hire but with more support and understanding from your line manager to slowly increase your workload in line with your competency and knowledge. It also focuses on other skills needed in the wider business.

Every day is a school day and I am constantly learning through experience and overcoming challenges. there are lots of formal training easily accessible and most are free to use.
