Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
I really enjoy working here. I found i was given real work and responsibility fairly quickly. My team have faith and trust in me to do the work but they will always make time to help me if I don't understand/ am stuck. The graduate scheme is very social. The social secs organise pay day drinks and social hikes in the lakes (as well as more events).
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I am in charge of a primary component. This role involves me communicating with cross department teams as well as the customer.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My team in Naval Architecture are lovely, supportive and friendly. I know I can go to them if i need help or a little chit chat. My manger is amazing he will listen to me rant and will listen to and act on my problems. I know I can talk to my manger about anything and I know he will be honest with me.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

When joining we got a £2k joining bonus and a £5k relocation allowance. Once you are in the job the benefits are ok. You get discounts to gyms in barrow. You get some additional benefits at certain parts of the year inc. private healthcare/ dentist.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I have been sent on loads of training courses. Additionally I want to get better at matlab and my management have allowed me to sign up for any/ all the matlab courses that interest me.

Support is amazing. Regular 1-1 check ins with line manager where I can express concerns, development goals, career goals, my feelings or just have a chit chat.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
The onboarding is long, especially as you have to apply for access/ permissions but just stick with it and don't let it bog you down. The immersion may be boring/ long but use it as an opportunity to make friends
