Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
It's been a stressful period of my life. However, I can objectively appreciate that had I been put in a different team I won't have had as tough a time because the Early Careers team/scheme at BAE is actually very good
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Liaison with different members of the company to track project progress. Monitor project financials. Pull together project reporting.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Relative to the UK £34,000 feels decent, but UK salaries have stagnated.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Robust Early Careers team reaches out with skills development, but as my team is under a lot of pressure/tight deadlines I feel I'm sometimes kept from these opportunities. But the company itself does objectively provide space to grow.

There are Employee Resource Groups primarily run by people already working within the company, but efforts are often met with a lot of resistance by the layers of gatekeeping within the company.

Yes
Why?
It has an Early Careers team which is always pushing for improvements. However, like anywhere, you're better off in some teams than others

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be sociable. There are many structures in place e.g mentoring, but they require you to reach out. Don't isolate yourself because you don't want to 'bug people'
