Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Arm?
Lots of grads and some familiar faces before starting. There's a lot of graduate community, encouraged by efforts like the Graduate Committee who organise events etc.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Software engineer. I often get to decide my own tasks as they naturally lead from previous ones, but I also get given direction and priority from my manager. I still enjoy my freedom and contribute to important decisions.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
My opinions are often considered and I am encouraged to partake in designing systems with my own bespoke ideas.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
Lots of great benefits.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
4/5
Arm has rotations for grads, though my particular role does not encourage this entirely as much as the other grads get to.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
4/5
Less formal training, but I get to learn and teach myself skills and read up on things I need to complete my task.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
4/5
No professional mentoring, but the line manager sometimes gives advice on a variety of working world things.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
Hours are somewhat flexible, and non-work related activities are encouraged even during work hours (e.g. dance classes, gym, personal training, painting, volunteering).
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
How would you rate Arm initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
How would you rate Arm CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
We have lots of charity events going on

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Arm to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good work culture, and a fair compensation package.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
Interview was for the role I applied for, with the tech lead and manager of the team.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Arm?
Enjoy the interview process. You're just there for them to get to know you, and you're probably better at coding than you think
