Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Arm?
A very positive experience, both as a graduate and an intern. I learned a lot, did meaningful work from the start, and everyone was very helpful and understanding. The atmosphere in the office is also friendly and collaborative.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My contributions directly impact the performance of ML models on Arm CPUs. What I enjoy most is being allowed to take full ownership of a task, coming up with a (hopefully clever) solution, and presenting it to the team.
As an intern in a smaller team, I felt like I truly became part of the decision-making process by the end of the placement year, especially whenever my area of work was brought up.
As a fresh graduate in a larger team, I’ve already been entrusted with thought-provoking tasks and made meaningful contributions.
In both roles, I’ve worked primarily on open-source software, interacting with and learning from the wider software engineering community.

Opportunity to provide meaningful work, relaxed atmosphere, great WLB and compensation package, especially for the location (Manchester).
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Arm?
Try to let your personality shine through as much as your technical skills during the interview stages. Also, be open to working on projects you've probably never heard of, and you'll end up learning a lot more than you expect.
