Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
My time at Savills as a Graduate Wayleave Surveyor has been highly rewarding. I’ve gained practical experience in land rights, negotiations, and client management, while developing strong technical and communication skills within a supportive team environment. In a range of different environments.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities involve negotiating and managing agreements and liaising with landowners and clients, and supporting the delivery of utility projects. I particularly enjoy meeting landowners and engaging with people, building relationships, finding solutions, and ensuring all parties are treated fairly.”
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
3/5
I feel I’m able to contribute meaningfully and that my input is valued, especially when supporting senior surveyors on projects. As a graduate, I’m still developing my experience, but I’m keen to keep learning so I can take on more responsibility and add greater value over time.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Savills to a friend because it’s one of the biggest and most respected property companies, which means you get exposure to a wide range of projects and clients. It’s a great place to learn, meet lots of different people, and build strong professional relationships. Working at Savills also pushes you out of your comfort zone in a good way you’re encouraged to take on new challenges, develop confidence, and grow both personally and professionally.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Savills?
My main advice is to research the sector you’re applying for and learn about key people and projects. During assessments, be yourself everyone’s in the same position, and showing genuine interest and enthusiasm goes a long way.
