Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Vodafone?
I have loved working at Vodafone. The culture is just so good - everyone friendly and interested in how they can help you with your development. My manager for my first rotation was like a mentor, she poured so much time into me and trusted me to look after customers. There are so many opportunities to branch out and try new things, join networking groups and complete stretch projects with other teams so you are fully equipped with the tools you need to discover what kind of things you do and don't like, which is crucial at this early stage in your career.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Communicating with customers and building relationships with them to influence future business, as well as working cross-functionally across many different teams such as the commercial and legal teams to bring complex opportunities to life.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
There was a £1k signing bonus and all employees get a bonus at the end of the financial year, depending on how the company has done. There is also the opportunity to get 'star awards' (worth money) if you do something particularly fabulous and I think this is a great incentive to always be pushing to do your best.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Vodafone is such a good company to have on the CV and the nature of the tech industry is that things are changing so fast, so no matter what role you're in you'll be constantly learning new things and adapting your skills which is why experience at a company like Vodafone will set you up well for any kind of career. There is also so much happening in the company (no one is clued in on everything going on) so the opportunities to try something new within the company are endless too.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
How is your work-life balance?

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
How would you rate Vodafone initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
How would you rate Vodafone CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
I have just moved into the ESG (Environmental and Social Governance) team for my second rotation and I am being blown away by the things going on in the background internally and externally to try and push sustainability goals (socially and environmentally). Plus, you get 5 volunteer days a year as an addition to your annual leave and there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer - you can organise a volunteer day yourself or do one of the many volunteer experiences that come up throughout the year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Vodafone to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The opportunities are endless, you will be supported no matter what you want to do. You will feel comfortable in the work environment and your health and wellbeing will be taken seriously.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
3/5
It exceeded my expectations. I did my assessment centre online and felt a bit disconnected from the experience. I went in to the role with no idea how much I would enjoy it.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Vodafone?
In interviews, the best you can do is research things about the company- know the 'Spirit Initiatives' and incorporate them into your answers. Beyond that, just be yourself - at the interview process any company is really just seeing if you would be a good fit for the culture.
